A welcoming place to read.
We want our garden journal to be comfortable to explore across screens, input methods and reading preferences.
Design choices
The site uses semantic headings, visible keyboard focus, a skip link, meaningful image alternatives, readable text and responsive layouts. Interactive controls have descriptive names. Content is available in the initial HTML so reading the guides does not require application scripting.
Reading and navigation
You can navigate links and controls with the keyboard, enlarge text with browser zoom and use category and journal pages to browse without search. Search and the local reading list use JavaScript. If these enhancements are unavailable, article links and category pagination remain available. The design respects reduced motion preferences.
Ongoing improvements
We aim to follow recognized accessibility practices, but do not claim a completed independent accessibility audit or formal certification. Devices, browser extensions and assistive technology combinations vary. Some third party pages linked from the publication may have different accessibility characteristics.
